Well, as a very small child I supposedly enjoyed sitting next to flower pots and throw the potting soil into the apartment.
When that got boring my fascination for devices, machines and generally how all the things work arose. I was then building a radio with an electronic toy box or experimented with the buttons and controls on my parents’ stereo system to study the effects on the sound.
Later I had a small motorcycle that was extensively opened up, examined and technically optimized. I also studied things like the dynamics of cornering, tire grip and patterns of traffic accidents.
I was also excited when I first came into contact with computers and was fascinated by the possibilities they offered. In my childhood, it was still sometimes a challenge to get a computer game to run, which led me to get involved with how it worked at an early age. (I would still tell my former self not to play so much computer games).
My interest in technology later led me to universities in Berlin and Chemnitz where I studied engineering. I specialized in computer-aided development and writing programs to solve complex technical problems. After successfully completing my studies, I worked in various positions in industry and at research institutes in Germany, Europe and the USA.
